Can you actually ‘learn’ how to be clairvoyant? To a certain extent, you certainly can. If you want to understand what’s meant by this, let’s clarify, first, what is meant by ‘clairvoyance,’ and what is meant when we say that you can ‘learn’ how to be clairvoyant.

Part of this confusion is that to be a ‘clairvoyant’ means different things, depending on whom you ask. Most commonly, when someone is talking about being clairvoyant, they’re really talking about remote viewing, which is the ability to see what’s going on in a distant location without the use of either technology or the five senses. Another ‘definition’ of clairvoyance is actually that of precognition, which means you can see events that happen in the future. However, at its essence, clairvoyance simply means that you know information about a person, location, object or event without having to access any of your five senses. In other words, clairvoyance at its essence is really a sixth sense.

Some individuals have extraordinary clairvoyant abilities. They may be able to hear, see, smell, feel or even taste something that is not close by. They may have the ability to know about things from the future or past that, they could not know by any other means. No one is sure as to how it works. Science offers no explanation or documentation of these abilities. There are many metaphysical explanations of these psychic abilities. However, there is no dominant belief and many of the explanations are actually contradictory. There is one common element. However, it seems to cross through all these various theories. Individuals who experience such psychic abilities are born that very naturally.

Anyone can learn how to remote view and see into the past and future. Anyone can learn how to cultivate and develop his or her sixth sense. However, it does take time and practice.

This is because all people possess a sixth sense to a certain degree. This can be visible as the manifestation of a hunch or feeling that is overpowering. Anyone that has ever felt distrust or a bad feeling about someone could be dealing with a sixth sense. But, people will often dismiss their sixth sense and center on emotion as opposed to an important gut instinct.

Science acknowledges the validity and existence of instincts and gut feelings to some degree. Nevertheless, they claim this is not a supernatural, paranormal or psychic ability. Psychologists believe this is a phenomenon of the subconscious mind that notices small details, and signals that the conscious mind overlooks. This type of information is translated by your subconscious mind into feelings that guide you. In order to develop your sixth sense of clairvoyance, you need to learn to use and trust you subconscious mind.

It doesn’t really matter whether or not this ’sixth sense’ is based upon psychic ability or other paranormal functions, or simply on your brain’s neurochemistry. However, whatever you call it, ‘clairvoyance’ does exist, everyone has it to some degree, and everyone can learn to develop and hone this ability if they want to. Here are three ways you can do so.

1. Sharpen Perception

Many individuals get so busy with life tasks that they become oblivious to everything around them. However, there are many small details that we may not notice yet our subconscious mind notices them and then forms hunches or instincts. When you increase your perception, becoming aware of the world around you, you provide you subconscious mind the power it requires to increase your clairvoyant sixth sense.

However, to do this, you’re going to have to practice. There are several things you can do to increase perception. First, slow down. Relax, calm down, and move at a more leisurely pace in your daily life. Second, minimize distractions that normally occupy your senses. For example, don’t listen to the radio in the car while you’re driving, and instead drive in silence. With nothing else to distract you, and you’ll see that the world around you suddenly comes into sharp focus. You’ll notice the neighborhood you’re driving in, the weather, and the car behind you that’s about to move into your blind spot.

Do a mini-meditation. Close your eyes and take a deep breath. Make yourself relax. When you open your eyes, you should be more aware of your surroundings. It only takes a couple of seconds; however, you will notice that it makes a difference.

2. Meditate

Try to actively meditate for at least half an hour a day. With meditation, you clear your conscious mind and occupy it with simple things like a mantra, focus on your breath, etc. This clears your conscious mind so that you can access your subconscious mind directly. When you do this, you can communicate directly with your subconscious mind. Those who meditate regularly report that they feel much more relaxed and refreshed throughout their day.

It is fair to say meditation can be a little difficult to perform at times. When you try and empty out your mind, it becomes difficult to truly clear the mind and cease and endless cycle of thought. To reverse such a scenario is difficult because it is tough to occupy the conscious mind and be able to distract it. A focus and a mantra may be the best ways to do this.

Meditation can be difficult because your senses act as a means of distraction. Every little sound you hear and anything that you feel can prove quite distracting. So, it is best to avoid trying to shut down your senses and, instead, try to keep them busy with something you are focusing on. The flame of a candle can work well in this regard. As the flame flickers and shifts, you can watch it and keep your mind occupied.

Secondly, it is our conscious mind and our thoughts that never shut down which leads us to always being distracted by thoughts. So, instead of trying to silence it, it is better to distract it or occupy it with a mantra. A mantra is a phrase, prayer, or poem and, possibly, song lyrics intended to occupy the mind. As long as it is something you know and can recite, you can use it as a mantra. Many prayer sessions such as the rosary reciting can occupy the mind in such a manner.

3. Your Instincts Are the Key

This is perhaps the most important element of developing your clairvoyant abilities. That means it is important to avoid doubting or second-guessing yourself. Never dismiss any gut instincts or ignore logical conclusions. All hunches and instincts have value and you need to pay attention to them. They may reveal something your subconscious has not noticed.

Again, this is going to be difficult at first, but will become easier the more you listen to and trust your instincts. As you do, you’ll learn to gain trust in them, your sixth sense of clairvoyance will grow stronger, and it will become something you depend on.
