Can anyone lean the skills of clairvoyance? Actually, it is possible for everyone to learn a certain modicum of skill in this power. However, it is important to define exactly what clairvoyance refers to and what we mean by the ability to learn it.
Some of the confusion here derives from the fact that the term clairvoyance has several different meanings. Some of the traditional definitions center on remote viewing powers or precognition skills. On a very basic level, this term refers to the ability to discover information about a person, place, or thing without using any of the five senses but from tapping into a latent sixth sense.
It is true that some individuals have extraordinary clairvoyant skills such as the ability to tap into the five senses to connect with something far away or to look into the past or future. But, no one truly knows how this works and science has lacked the ability to explain the process. Yes, there are many metaphysical explanations for such psychic abilities but no one particular explanation have emerged to truly define it. If there was one common denominator among all of these components it would be the simple notion that most people with these powers were born that way.
Anyone can learn how to remote view and see into the past and future. Anyone can learn how to cultivate and develop his or her sixth sense. However, it does take time and practice.
To a certain degree, everyone has the sixth sense of clairvoyance. Most often, they know it as a gut feeling or intuition. These feelings are not easy to explain to others. Some examples include hearing someone say, ‘I feel we can trust this person’, or ‘This does not feel right to me.’ However, many people ignore their instincts and follow their emotions or their logic.
Even the realm of science will acknowledge the value of hunches and instincts. Many scientists will claim there is nothing supernatural or paranormal about these abilities. Many in the mental health field will claim such powers are merely the subconscious mind developing keener insights into what the conscious mind may have been too previously busy to notice. The subconscious may translate this info into feelings that were previously mentioned. As such, it is important to help and trust the subconscious mind.
This sixth sense may have a basis in neurochemistry or even a paranormal psychic ability, perhaps even a blending of the two. However, the fact is everyone has some degree of clairvoyance. If they have the desire, they can develop this ability. You can develop your clairvoyance in three ways.
1. Sharpen Perception
The daily grind of life often keeps many of us busy and we become unmindful of our surroundings. We may not notice the small details. However, the subconscious mind notices these things and then it forms gut feelings or intuition. By increasing your perception, you become aware of your surrounding. This provides your subconscious mind with the power it deserves to increase your sixth sense.
However, to do this, you’re going to have to practice. There are several things you can do to increase perception. First, slow down. Relax, calm down, and move at a more leisurely pace in your daily life. Second, minimize distractions that normally occupy your senses. For example, don’t listen to the radio in the car while you’re driving, and instead drive in silence. With nothing else to distract you, and you’ll see that the world around you suddenly comes into sharp focus. You’ll notice the neighborhood you’re driving in, the weather, and the car behind you that’s about to move into your blind spot.
Finally, learn how to do tiny sessions of meditation throughout the day. Not the involved process of meditation you might think about, a ‘mini meditation’ is simply something you do when you close your eyes, take a deep breath, and focus on relaxing. Then, open your eyes again. You’ll probably notice that your surroundings are in much sharper focus, and you’re noticing more things about them. These types of ‘mini meditations’ only take a few seconds each, but you’ll be surprised at how much things change for you once you begin to do them.
2. Meditate
Always seek to meditate at least 30 minutes a day. The purpose of such meditation is to open and clear the mind. This way, the subconscious will rise to the surface and communicate more clearly with the conscious mind. This way, a refreshed and relaxed state will yield better cognitive powers.
Meditation isn’t really that difficult, but it does take some practice. It’s a little bit like me telling you not to think about a pink elephant, for example. Suddenly, of course, all you can think of are pink elephants. Similarly, when you first sit down and try not to think about anything, suddenly your focus is on something like, ‘Oh, my gosh, I’m not thinking about nothing.’ You’re also probably going to have your mind chattering away at you about how you’re doing things wrong and so on. Don’t worry; that’s normal and starts to clear up as you become more practiced at meditating, but you can help overcome this by focusing on a mantra.
Meditation can be difficult because your senses act as a means of distraction. Every little sound you hear and anything that you feel can prove quite distracting. So, it is best to avoid trying to shut down your senses and, instead, try to keep them busy with something you are focusing on. The flame of a candle can work well in this regard. As the flame flickers and shifts, you can watch it and keep your mind occupied.
Secondly, it is our conscious mind and our thoughts that never shut down which leads us to always being distracted by thoughts. So, instead of trying to silence it, it is better to distract it or occupy it with a mantra. A mantra is a phrase, prayer, or poem and, possibly, song lyrics intended to occupy the mind. As long as it is something you know and can recite, you can use it as a mantra. Many prayer sessions such as the rosary reciting can occupy the mind in such a manner.
3. Trust Your Instincts
The most essential element in developing your clairvoyance is trusting, your instincts. Do not second-guess yourself or dismiss you hunches as unimportant by telling yourself they hold no logic. There is good reason for your instincts. This is your subconscious mind telling you something that your conscious mind has overlooked.
Yes, these skills may be difficult at first but, over time, you will learn to listen to and trust your instincts. This will allow you to gain more confidence in them. The more your sixth sense grows stronger, the easier it is to trust it.
