Thoughts On How To Develop Clairvoyant Powers

Clairvoyance is a French word meaning 'clear vision' (clair means clear and voyance means vision). Voyant is the adjectival present participle of voyance, so a clairvoyant is someone who 'sees clearly'. This is a literal translation; when the word is used in French it merely means someone with excellent vision. Of course, that’s not what we mean when using the word in English.

When the word clairvoyant is used to describe a person, it means that this person has exhibited some form of psychic ability. This is a rather broad reading of the word; more specifically, a clairvoyant is someone with the ability to perceive or know things without the use of their five physical senses – the terms clairvoyance and ESP are largely interchangeable.

Usually, however, clairvoyance involves an individual that knows of something happening at the moment. But happening a distance outside of the physical senses. There is, however, documentation of cases of clairvoyants having knowledge of an event taking place either in the past or the future. In view of this clairvoyance is considered a form of prophecy or precognition.

The clairvoyants means of retrieving this hidden information is varied. But generally it can be broken down into one of six categories. The remote viewing phenomenon is where clairvoyance is most associated. With remote reviewing a clairvoyant views a person, place, object or event. This can take the form of visual hallucination or at other times the individual will view a place, person, object or event with their minds eye.

Clairaudience refers to the clairvoyant receiving knowledge in the form of sound. They will hear sounds and voices which only they (and only they) can hear.

Thirdly, this type of clairvoyance is clairsentience. In this form the individual gains information through feeling and touch. Some clairvoyants may need to actually touch an object that is not present. In other cases a feeling or vibration maybe felt by a clairvoyant from a remote distance from a person, location or event.

The fourth is clairalience and in this form the person receives knowledge from a remote place or event through a sense of smell. An example would be should they smell flowers or grass in a meadow or the tang of blood or gunpowder. No one else could detect these smells and there would be no available source for the variety of scents the clairvoyant is picking up.

The fifth form of clairvoyance is clairgustance. In this instance, an individual who has not eaten or drank anything tastes various flavors and there is no apparent source. They can also taste these flavors from a distance and describe them.

Finally the sixth type or form of clairvoyance is Claircognizance. The most difficult to explain or define. With this type of clairvoyance the individual knows information about an event, object, place or person at a remote distance and can’t explain how they know this information. They just know it. This category is a catch-all for clairvoyance.

Clairvoyance is something which is known in every part of the world and has a place in every single one of the world’s cultures. The phenomena also figures into most of the world’s major religions. In the Buddhist tradition, clairvoyance (specifically in the form of clairsentience) is thought of as one of the six types of extrasensory abilities which are granted to people through advanced study of meditation. Buddhists believe that these people are able to perceive the vibrations given off by other people.

Buddhists believe clairvoyance to be one of six forms of extrasensory perception which become available to people with advanced meditation training. In Buddhism, this clairvoyance is thought to be in the form of clairsentience, with practitioners able to feel the vibrations emitted by others.

Clairvoyance has often been considered as miraculous in Catholicism. Five hundred plus years ago, a disciple of Saint Frances name Saint Claire, had a vision of Saint Frances’s death. Even though she was miles during that time. The Catholic Church sainted Saint Claire making her the patron saint of television. Literally television means seeing over a distance.

There are many who are skeptical of clairvoyance and it is human nature to deny the existence of anything only for the reason they did not understand anything about it. It wasn’t that far back in our history that even scientists denied the existence of electricity and magnetism.

Whatever is said by skeptics say, no one has as yet disproved clairvoyance and the evidence is increasing that many genuine clairvoyants exist around the world. Generally parapsychologists, scientists and the public have become more open minded and are accepting clairvoyance is real.
