Why We Have Lost Our Clairvoyant Abilities
The paranormal term of clairvoyance originated in the French language. Clair means clear in French, voyance means vision and a voyant is a visionary. And clairvoyance is clear vision and a clairvoyant is an individual who is a clear visionary. The literal translation, however, is not accurate and is not helpful.
To complicate the meaning further the word clairvoyant has be used in reference to other different things during the years. The term clairvoyant has emerged gradually and applied to an individual displaying a range of abilities in the psychic or the paranormal. An all around definition which fit’s a clairvoyant is and individual who has the ability to know information about places, events, objects or people without using the five physical senses. Clairvoyance, however, does refer to a form of extra-sensory perception, also known as ESP.
For the most part, clairvoyants only perceive extrasensory knowledge about current events. However, there have been clairvoyants who have received information about the past or the future. These cases fall more into the category of precognition or post-cognition, however.
A clairvoyant may receive this knowledge through various channels, but there are six means which are the most common. The most common of all and the one with which clairvoyance is most strongly associated is known as remote viewing. This consists of seeing a person, place or thing beyond the range of their five senses. This could be a vision or a mental image.
Clairaudience refers to the clairvoyant receiving knowledge in the form of sound. They will hear sounds and voices which only they (and only they) can hear.
The third type is called clairsentience and in this form the individual receives knowledge by touching or feeling. This may be the act of touching an object which is not present and in other cases it may be a feeling or vibration the clairvoyant may feel from another person or event or place.
Clairalience is the fourth type or form. This form, clairalience, involves the sense of smell of the clairvoyant. The knowledge, for example, of the individual (clairvoyant) is gained through the smell of flowers and grass of a meadow, the ordor of blood and gunpowder. An it is unlikely anyone else near them can detect these smells and there is no source for these various scents.
The fifth form of clairvoyance is called clairgustance. With this form an individual who has no food within their mouth can taste various flavors, even though there is no apparent sauce. The clairvoyant can also identify the flavors from a distance.
The final and sixth sense of clairvoyance is the form of Claircognizance and it is also the most difficult to explain and define. An individuals ability with this form is to have the knowledge of a person, place, object or event at a distance, but they cannot explain how they have this knowledge. They just do. The catch-all category of clairvoyance is, to some extent, considered to be Claircognizance.
There are many documentations of occurrences where clairvoyant individuals, historically, from many different cultures worldwide. Clairvoyance happenings have been accepted into many of the worlds most widespread religions.
For example, in Buddhism, clairvoyance is considered to give humans the capability to reach advanced levels of meditation. And the ability to feel vibrations sent out by other people.
More than five hundred years ago, a disciple of Saint Francis named Saint Clair, had a vision where she witnessed the death of Saint Francis even though she was many miles away at the time. The Catholic Church, interestingly enough, had made Saint Clair the patron saint of television. Literally translated television means seeing over a distance.
There are many who are skeptical of clairvoyance and it is human nature to deny the existence of anything only for the reason they did not understand anything about it. It wasn’t that far back in our history that even scientists denied the existence of electricity and magnetism.
No matter what the skeptics say or do not believe, no one has been able disprove clairvoyance. The increasing evidence of the existence of many genuine clairvoyants worldwide has opened the minds of many. Scientists, parapsychologists and even the general public are ready to accept clairvoyance as real.
